The Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC) is composed of nine members who are appointed by the Minister of National Economy and Finance. They are individuals of recognized standing, distinguished by their scientific qualifications and professional competence, and possess specialized experience in matters within their assigned areas of responsibility.
The President of the HGC is appointed from among the nine members by decision of the Minister of National Economy and Finance, following the opinion of the Committee on Institutions and Transparency of the Hellenic Parliament.
The President has overall responsibility for the Commission’s work and the general supervision of its operations, chairs HGC meetings, and represents the Authority both in and out of court.
The term of office of the President and the other members of the HGC is four years and may be renewed only once. In order to ensure the continuity of the Authority’s operation, the membership of the HGC, excluding the President, is renewed by half every two years.
The HGC was established for the first time at the end of 2011 by Decision No. 55906/1673/20.12.2011 (Government Gazette Y.O.D.D. 444) of the Minister of Finance entitled “Establishment of the Gaming Supervision and Control Commission and Appointment of its Members.” Subsequently, through a series of decisions of the Minister of Finance, the composition of the Commission was renewed. The current composition is as follows:

- Venetsanos Rogakos, Economist and Business Consultant, Member.
- Georgios Giannopoulos, Associate Professor at the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Member.
- Ioannis Kontoulas, Attorney-at-Law, Member.
- Konstantinos Tsantzalos, Attorney-at-Law, Member.
- Georgios Kyriakos, Economist, Member.
- Christina Lappa, Attorney-at-Law, Member.
- Dimitrios Papageorgiou, Attorney-at-Law, Member.
- Angelos Pouleas, Information Technology Executive, Member.
